He is the namesake of the greatest tragedy in the history of humanity: Horus Lupercal. The son of the Emperor nearly caused the complete downfall of the world from Warhammer 40,000. Now a user has dedicated a statue to him that does not fit in any house.
This is the statue: Already in December 2025, we reported that the user “HammerDoris” or “The Imperial Saint” is currently building a life-sized statue of Horus Lupercal.
Doris is quite well known in the community for her cosplays. You can find her projects on Instagram.
Back then, only the legs were finished. Now the statue is almost completely finalized on… these legs. Only the iconic claw on the right hand of the traitor is still missing. In a thread on Reddit, Doris lists some facts about the statue:
- The statue measures 4.4 meters from the lowest to the highest point – only 3.6 meters up to the head. That fits, Horus was supposed to be about 3.5 meters tall in his armor.
- The entire duration for the project so far is 5 months. She has forgotten the claw so far. Since this is a hobby project, Doris is not putting herself under pressure, she says.
- A total of 1,752 individual parts have been used so far. Just the legs needed 594 pieces back then.
How did Doris manage that? For the actual printing, Doris says she ran 20 3D printers to produce the individual parts. However, some details had to be adjusted, such as cutting off part of the leg armor so that the arms would fit.
Arms and shoulder pads are held in position with rods. As she shows in another video on Reddit, she needed a forklift and tension straps for the assembly. The latter could at least already be removed. Now Horus can stand on his own.
The storage, on the other hand, sounds a bit complicated. Due to the enormous size, the traitor lies in separate parts in the garage and completely blocks it, writes the user. What all this has cost, she wants to reveal in a later post.
Horus Lupercal is one of the most important figures in Warhammer 40,000
In the comments, there are some remarks about how such a statue well represents the absurd conditions of Warhammer – and how much larger Space Marines can be compared to humans.
Space Marines are bred super soldiers and are already a good bit larger than “normal” humans. Primarchs, the ones from whom Space Marines descend, are even larger since they are the direct genetic sons of the God-Emperor himself.
A user notes that Horus with such dimensions would not even fit into a normal house, which probably would not pose an obstacle. At least not for the house. Considering how powerful Horus actually is.
Horus Lupercal is known as the ultimate traitor. He questioned the Emperor and his ways and triggered the “Horus Heresy”, the great brother war in which half of the Space Marine legions fell to Chaos.
The following conflict nearly destroyed holy Terra, and Horus himself nearly killed the Emperor. Since then, the ruler of humanity has been bound to his golden throne, which keeps him alive.
But although Horus is regarded as the greatest traitor, he is not the first heretic. In fact, there is even a person who can be blamed more than anyone else for what Chaos has done and continues to do in the galaxy: A man in Warhammer 40,000 is responsible for turning the two greatest traitors evil
