One of the last major dungeons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the Endless Tower. We reveal whether it’s worth it – and what you need to do there.
After you have gained the ability to fly with Esquie all over the world in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you unlock a lot of new areas. Some of them only have single items, but others contain really long dungeons and tough challenges. One of the most challenging is the “Endless Tower”.
Where can the tower be found? You can discover the tower in the far west of the world map. On the map, it looks like a large golden circle with a “C” inside. You need to fly a short distance upwards to find a landing spot. After entering the tower, you will first be in the entrance area. Keep going “back” in the picture to get from the entrance area into the actual tower.
When should you enter the tower? Basically, the tower can be entered as early as level 45+ as long as you have completed Act 2 and Esquie has learned to fly. However, some fights require very high character stats, and a level of 80+ is definitely recommended.
You can also simply return to the tower “every few levels” and see if you’re equipped for the current battle. It is not necessary to complete the tower in one go, and it is well suited as a “in-between” activity when you just want to do a few quick fights.
As always in Expedition 33, you can generally survive all fights regardless of your character stats if you are true masters at dodging and parrying. If not, a high level is clearly recommended.
What do you do in the Endless Tower? The Endless Tower offers very little in terms of exploration, but a lot for those who enjoy the combat system. In the central area of the tower, you will find a screen that you can interact with. Here you can complete battles in sequence and unlock new fights. These are divided into 10 levels, each with 3 trials. On the 11th level, there are 3 particularly tough boss trials waiting for you. In total, there are 33 battles that you can master.
You unlock the battles in sequence. After “Level 1, Fight 1”, you can complete “Level 1, Fight 2”, and so on. Skipping battles is not possible.
Endless Tower in Expedition 33 – All Important Rewards
What rewards are there in the tower? The rewards are relatively generous considering that you hardly have to travel. Each successful fight rewards you with a Lumina point and Chroma catalysts, which you can use to upgrade your weapons. Additionally, at the end of a level, i.e., after every third battle, there is an additional reward. This can be a powerful Picto but also new hairstyles.
Here we list all the special rewards you can get from the toughest fights:
| Level in the Tower | Recommended Level | Reward |
| Level 1, Trial 3 | 50 | Picto: Greater Defenceless |
| Level 2, Trial 3 | 55 | Picto: Energising Rush |
| Level 3, Trial 3 | 60 | Clea hairstyle for Lune |
| Level 4, Trial 3 | 65 | Time Tint Hairstyle: Double braided white hair for Maelle |
| Level 5, Trial 3 | 70 | Picto: Charging Critical Hairstyle: Rebellious white hair for Lune |
| Level 6, Trial 3 | 75 | Picto: Critical Weakness Hairstyle: Messy white hair bun for Sciel |
| Level 7, Trial 3 | 80 | Picto: Fueling Break Hairstyle Clea haircuts for Sciel |
| Level 8, Trial 3 | 85 | Empowering Tint |
| Level 9, Trial 3 | 90 | Picto: Rush on Powerful Hairstyle Expedition White for Verso |
| Level 10, Trial 3 | 90 | Picto: Greater Powerless |
| Level 11, Trial 3 | 90+ | Clair outfit for Verso Perfect Chroma Catalyst 5 Lumina points (instead of 1) |
If you manage to complete all the battles, talk to the ghostly woman next to the portrait afterward. She will then grant you the new “Ponytail (Maelle)” hairstyle. You can then wear Maelle’s classic hairstyle with white hair color – a real eye-catcher.
What else do you need to know about the tower? The Endless Tower is completely optional. You don’t need to feel any pressure to complete it, and the full completion of the tower has no impact on the story. You don’t even have to tackle the tower before the last story mission in Lumiere. You can return after the story ends and master all the trials that you have not completed so far.
By the way, if you are defeated in a trial, it is not a game over. You simply get the message that the trial has failed and can try it again immediately without having to load a save.
The Endless Tower is just one of many secrets hidden by the developers in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Some of them are even hidden right at the beginning of the game, so you can miss them forever in the first 10 minutes.
