How was the ranking created? For this list, one thing counts above all: skill with the lightsaber. Other abilities, such as those related to the Force, do not play a role here for now. So, while someone who knows how to handle Force lightning may have an advantage in an actual duel, we are primarily interested in sword technique combined with the personal traits of each character in the ranking.
Important: We focus on fighters from the Star Wars canon. The placements are clearly subjective and can be discussed in the comments. As often, nuances and subjective perceptions decide the outcome.
Rank 10: Kit Fisto
We start this ranking with a Jedi, in line with the motto “still waters run deep.” Kit Fisto may not stand out much at first glance, also because he ranks rather low within Star Wars.
However, the Jedi Master is truly talented with a lightsaber. He fights in the style of Shii-Cho, the first form that ever existed. Compared to later forms, it is simpler and easier, yet that is its strength. Kit Fisto strikes quickly while remaining unpredictable. His strikes are precise and never careless.
As he belongs to the Nautolan people, he excels in underwater combat, and while others might panic in those situations, Kit Fisto remains calm. His thoughtful and reserved nature leads some opponents to underestimate him. He defeated General Grievous in a duel and even held his own against Darth Sidious, whom he was supposed to capture alongside Mace Windu, for some time before the Sith killed him.
