Rank 9: Darth Maul
Ranked 9 is a popular Sith remembered for his lightsaber duels: Darth Maul. He was personally trained by Darth Sidious since childhood and is considered a master of the lightsaber styles Form 6 (Niman) and Form 7 (Juyo, a predecessor of Vaapad, which was developed by Mace Windu), with the latter making him a very aggressive, offensive fighter.
Maul strikes quickly and unexpectedly. When fighting with a double-bladed lightsaber, as seen at the end of Episode 1 in the duel against Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn, he can easily control the area around him.
This scene shows how strong Maul can be. He defeats and kills Qui-Gon Jinn, and he could have likely dealt with Obi-Wan as well had he not been defeated by his own character flaws. For as strong as Maul may be as an aggressive duelist, his talent with the lightsaber is repeatedly diminished by his rage and arrogance, which often lead to mistakes.
