In GTA Online there was another curious glitch after an update. This glitch could teleport entire lobbies and thus caused a lot of confusion.
What was that glitch? Imagine you are going about your business in GTA Online. Maybe you are cruising through Los Santos or planning a heist. Perhaps you are also enjoying a glass of champagne in your golden helicopter.
Suddenly, your screen goes black and you find yourself in front of some player’s apartment. Along with the entire lobby.
They are, of course, just as surprised as you are and armed to the teeth. This almost inevitably leads to an involuntary “Mexican stand-off” or duel, only with tons of other players.

Are there hackers now also on consoles? Blame an update
What was the cause of the error? Players could not pinpoint the source of the glitch for a long time. There was no obvious update or similar that could have introduced such a visible error for players.
This suspicion was initially plausible since GTA Online has ongoing issues with hackers and cheaters. So far, the problem has mostly been limited to PC players. They are somewhat hardened to this, while console players reacted much more surprised to the glitch (via reddit.com) :
- Spurgoth ironically commented: “There are no hackers on console.”
- yzer92 also fell victim to the glitch and blamed hackers: “A hacker teleported 20 of us to his garage and blew us up.”
- SufficientRecord2402 said: “Can they [hackers] do that on console now?”
The known GTA data miner Tez2 has found out that Rockstar apparently deployed an update behind the scenes that could be responsible for this glitch.
The update apparently caused certain player actions to trigger this teleport glitch. So there is no hacking or similar involved, as some players initially suspected.
By now, the error is supposed to have been fixed again, as Tez2 wrote on Twitter. (via Twitter.com)
