Attention! A serious bug is currently circulating in Fortnite that launches you or your opponents from the Season 4 map into the storm. There’s no defense against it. We show you gameplay of the crazy bug.
What’s it about? Season 4 is themed around Marvel superheroes in Fortnite. You can collect the abilities of superheroes like Groot and use them in battle. Where to find all superhero bosses and utilize their abilities in Fortnite.
This is the bug: Players discovered that there is a bug with Groot’s ball. This is actually intended: You use Groot’s ball and are encased inside this sphere made of branches. The ball protects you from enemy fire and heals you as long as you are inside. Additionally, you move faster across the map with it – almost like the Baller from one of the previous seasons.
Essentially, this is a defensive ability that protects and offers a new means of mobility. Unfortunately, with this ball, there is a bug. When colliding with players, they suddenly get launched off the map at high speed and perish in the storm.

What players are showing: On reddit, players are actively sharing their in-game footage after they or other players have fallen victim to the Groot bug. One such player is Xientraa. In his clip, he first takes down an opponent. A nearby enemy, standing within melee range, surprises him and presumably activates the Groot ball.
Then you can see how Xientraa is blown far from the map.
Another clip comes from NotAFoxInDisguise. He titles the video “And for my next trick I will disappear”.
In the comments, a player asks what happened. User Potion_Pult explains: “The Groot ball has the ability to knock players back without dealing damage when the ball collides with them. I suspect that when this is activated while a player is within the radius of the ball, the game believes they have been struck so hard by the ball that they are inside it. As a result, the recoil is multiplied and catapults them away.”
So be sure to keep your distance from opponents or stand with your back to the wall when you are sure that an opponent has the Groot ball. However, this is often not so obvious, which is why players are now hoping that the bug will be quickly fixed.
