Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone have postponed Season 4 indefinitely. MeinMMO shows you here a few meaningful activities you can try out until the new Battle Pass launches.
What’s going on with CoD? Currently, not much. The developers at Infinity Ward have postponed Season 4 for now, and the planned content for the new season is therefore on hold indefinitely.
Additionally, on Tuesday, the usual playlist update was even skipped, which normally provides fresh game modes at least weekly. Last Friday, May 29, there was a small update that brought you the long-awaited Duo Mode in the Warzone.
But what to do during the time until the new content and fresh Battle Pass come into play? We have listed 6 interesting activities for you that you can engage in meaningfully until Season 4 starts.
Season 4 is delayed – But there’s usually still enough to do
For soldiers who have purchased their Battle Pass but haven’t completed it yet, the priorities for the next few days should be clear. Collect as many Battle Pass tier points as possible and unlock the Alex skin without a face cover at level 100.
For the “poster boy” of Season 3, you will still receive a legendary weapon blueprint for the SKS, the new DMR of the ongoing season. Here are a few more milestones of the Battle Pass that you should still take with you:
- Mil-Sim: Counter-Terrorism skin at level 70
- Talon skin: Tracker at level 80
- Mara skin: Death Dealer at level 90
- Black Tomogunchi at level 93
If you have already completed the 100 levels, there are still other worthwhile activities to keep you occupied.
1. CoD MW – Level weapons with the crazy playlists
With the start of the technically last Season 3 week, two of the most popular playlists came into rotation – Shoot House and Shipment in the 24/7 mode. Shipment takes the tactical approach out of the CoD equation and instead adds the factor of chaos to the mix. But players love Shipment not only for the slightly more thoughtless gameplay.
You can also level up weapons that have flown under your radar so far. Weapons like the assault rifle “Kilo 141” or the SMGs “P90” or “Uzi”. Experiment with weapons you haven’t used much and learn their advantages. This way, when you have to play with one of these weapons in the Warzone because there’s nothing else available, you’ll be even better prepared.
2. CoD MW – Try the coop mode that offers a new difficulty level
The SpecOps mode is considered “buggy”, poorly balanced, and boring by many players. But here you can have hours of fun, especially if you can get a four-person team together.
The operations of the main mode “Special Forces” possess a nice difficulty level, and it often takes several attempts before you figure out the right solution for each mission step of the operations. But that’s what makes the coop mode really good and it even reminds a bit of “mini-raids”, which take place on the BR map Verdansk. Here are a few tips on how to approach the SpecOps mode.
Furthermore, the developers continue to invest work into the mode. Just recently, new rotating missions were added with the big update 1.21. You can approach individual operations here with a higher difficulty level, and you even receive cosmetics for the first completion of a modified mission.
3. CoD MW & Warzone – Unlock weapons and attachments that you may not have yet
Not all weapons or attachments are unlocked through account or weapon level-ups. Some weapons, for example, that you could unlock through the Battle Passes of previous seasons require specific tasks from you.
Additionally, some special attachments need to be unlocked through selected missions. Among them are all Akimbo attachments for pistols. Here the Renetti is considered particularly strong, as you can combine a 3-shot mode with the dual Akimbo weapons.
Important weapons and attachments to unlock would be:
- RAM-7: Powerful AR with more damage than the M4
- Grau 5.56: Top assault rifle in the Warzone
- Striker 45: SMG with 2-shot attachment for incredibly fast kills
- Akimbo for the Renetti: Clears everything that comes too close out of the way
4. CoD Warzone – Play the Plunder mode
In addition to the standard “Battle Royale” mode with currently all team sizes from solo to 4-player, Warzone offers another mode: Plunder.
Since the mode operates on a completely different game principle than the normal BR mode, it often stays under the radar for many players, but there’s still plenty of action. You need to become a millionaire and preferably before all other players.
Especially free-to-play players should use the mode from time to time to level up weapons. In the Plunder mode, you start with your personal loadouts and are not reliant on the abandoned weapons of the former inhabitants of Verdansk.
Additionally, respawns are activated, and a quick death doesn’t necessarily mean an early exit from the match, if the Gulag with automatic weapons wasn’t particularly gracious. As a result, the important spots are usually well-populated, and you can hardly secure cash without needing to protect your loot. It’s definitely worth a try.
5. CoD MW & Warzone – Get more operator items
The operator skins from the Battle Pass offer more than just the one skin that you get displayed upon unlocking. They all come with a few operator-specific missions that allow you to unlock even more skins or calls.
The Mil-Sim skins are the best example here. Through the Battle Pass of Season 3, you can unlock 3 of these skins for the unnamed operator of the factions. In total, you can get up to 12 skins here.
Go to your operator menu, select a character, and on the right you can already see the available missions. Go to “All Missions” and check out the details. The tasks for the additional Mil-Sim skins can all be completed in the Warzone. A truly worthwhile pastime.
6. CoD MW & Warzone – Try out a skill training
If you think that you’ve unlocked enough items or just want to get better, then try a skill training. There are some pre-made training scenarios that a CoD expert has specifically designed for special situations to improve your reactions:
Once you’ve gone through all those points, Season 4 should be within reach. However, it is still unclear when it will start exactly. Although there have already been some official info, leaks, and rumors about Season 4, the new Battle Pass is, for example, still unknown.
