In August, Activision invites players again to the beta of Call of Duty to take a first look at Modern Warfare 4. You can test 19 different weapons and game modes like Search & Destroy, Kill Block, or 3v3 Skirmish.
The beta itself is again divided into two weekends: one for all pre-orders of MW4 and a second weekend with the open beta, where everyone can participate for free.
First Weekend: August 21 to August 25, 2026 – Start, Time & Platforms
On which platforms is the beta available? The first weekend is available to all players who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 4 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC Battle.net, Xbox on PC, or Steam.
When does the beta start? The early access for pre-order beta begins on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 8:00 PM CEST and is supposed to end on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
How can you participate in the beta? The first beta weekend is accessible only to pre-orders of Modern Warfare 4. You will need to purchase the game for 69.99 € (or 79.99 €, depending on the platform).
Do you need a beta access code if you pre-order digitally? No, if you pre-ordered Modern Warfare 4 digitally, you do not need an access code, according to Activision. You are automatically registered for the early access beta.
Second Weekend: September 6 to September 9, 2026
The Open Beta: The second beta weekend is open to all players on all platforms (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC Battle.net, Xbox on PC or Steam) and is set to start on Friday, August 28, at approximately 7 PM CEST and end on Tuesday, September 1.
