When will the patch be released? The big June update for Borderlands 3 is coming this week on Thursday evening. This means it will be released exactly one week later than originally planned.
This was not explained in an official statement, but the developers’ Twitter channel confirmed it in several responses to inquiring fans:

The patch was originally supposed to go live on June 4, but was postponed due to the current situation in the USA. Now it is finally coming, one week late.

What is included in the patch: The big highlight is the start of the event “Takedown at the Guardian Breach”. Those who have played Maliwan Takedown know: Completing it won’t be a walk in the park,
The Takedown represents a new endgame challenge for full four-player teams. The enemies will be tough, but the rewards are said to be worth it. In addition to new enemy types, you can also expect platforming sequences and puzzles. Moreover, it all takes place in reduced gravity.
Additionally, many important improvements are tied to the patch. It is part of the developers’ two-phase plan to eliminate annoying issues from the game. These mainly emerged with the large Mayhem mode update, which, while it brought many new modifiers, difficulty levels, and gear pieces, also introduced many bugs.
Among other things, the enemy strength at high Mayhem levels will be adjusted and weapon balance will be overhauled. Gearbox also announced improvements to performance.
In any case, the Takedown should provide the perfect opportunity to try your hand at some tough enemies before we head to the Wild West at the end of the month. Then the third Borderlands 3 DLC is on the way.
