Batman is getting a new, big movie in 2027. Various villains will appear again, including one that is currently causing rumors among fans.
The Batman was a successful and atmospherically strong entry into the franchise in 2022, which has also made it very far in the MeinMMO ranking. A sequel is set to be released in 2027, again starring Robert Pattinson in the lead role.
The exciting question is which villains will be seen. Barry Keoghan, who made a brief appearance as the Joker in the first part, is reportedly set to be returning (via screenrant.com).
Another name, however, is causing much more excitement among fans: Sebastian Stan. The actor plays an unconfirmed role. So far, rumors have suggested that he will play the district attorney Harvey Dent, better known by his villain name Two-Face.
However, a new photo is throwing the rumors into disarray and points to another villain.
An unpleasant character divides fans
Who could Stan play? A current photo of the actor is making the rounds on x.com and shows him with a shaved face and bald head. This prompts the x account Home DCU to speculate that Stan could be playing none other than the serial killer Viktor Zsasz.
This quite dangerous character kills countless people and carves a scar into his skin for each victim as a reminder of his deeds. His body is covered in them and combined with his diabolical grin, Zsasz is outwardly intimidating.
It has not been confirmed that Sebastian Stan will actually play this character. But the mere idea has led to very different reactions among the fans. Essentially, there are two camps. One expresses disappointment.
“What a letdown. This should have been Harvey. So dumb,” writes user Grade on x.com. Venormorph agrees: “Zsasz has the vibe of a secondary character from a side mission or a tertiary antagonist. Stan would make a great figure as Dent.”
However, other users are excited about the idea. On Reddit, SoWrongItsPainful writes: “The idea of Sebastian playing an emotionless psychopath interests me much more than a borderline role as Harvey.”
Others speculate that Stan’s bald head may soon disappear under a wig or prosthetics. The latter would not be unlikely for a disfigured character like Two-Face.
However, Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider has also stated in a newsletter that Sebastian Stan will not be seen as Harvey Dent but is set to play Zsasz.
The rumor mill is churning vigorously. Until October 2027, when The Batman 2 hits theaters, it will likely continue for some time.
