The nominations for the Game Awards 2023 have been announced. Baldur’s Gate 3 has a chance at the GOTY title, but a major game is missing. MeinMMO reveals what’s behind it.
This year’s Game Awards are just around the corner, and the nominees for the coveted title Game of the Year
have been eagerly announced. Among the games competing for the award, Baldur’s Gate 3 by Larian Studios particularly stands out. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been nominated in a total of 8 categories at the Game Awards 2023.
The epic RPG has not only won the hearts of gamers but is also seen by many as the best game of the year. Baldur’s Gate 3 won so many awards at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards in London, that the head of Larian Studios
could hardly carry them all, including the award for Swen Vincke
Ultimate Game of the Year.
Starfield is missing from the GOTY nominations

Who is missing from the nominees? But as you may have noticed, a major game is missing from the nominations: Starfield by Bethesda did not apparently make it to the nominees in the Game of the Year
category. Other major titles that are missing include Final Fantasy XVI, Diablo IV, and Hogwarts Legacy. However, Starfield did make it into the category Best RPG
, otherwise Starfield does not appear in any other category.

. In this category, Neil Newbon, the voice of Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, is among the nominees, who has previously won an award for his role as Astarion and expressed his heartfelt thanks.
