Patch Notes in 1.26.00 – What’s changing

What do the patch notes say? Update 1.26.00 brought new contents to ARC Raiders, including a new opponent, map, and changes for the trials. We will now go through the official patch notes and list for you in English what is changing (source: arcraiders.com):

BALANCE CHANGES

WEAPON ECONOMY ADJUSTMENTS

The weapon economy is increasingly unbalanced. Players who engage intensely in PvP need to make many difficult decisions regarding their weapons, while the friendliest players constantly pile up new weapons. The aim is to balance this, so that all players are confronted with weapon wear and new possibilities to combat this wear are introduced.

NEW FEATURE: REPAIR WHEN UPGRADING

Weapon upgrades become very expensive if the weapon needs to be repaired beforehand. This makes access to them less attractive than desired. To create more options for repairing low durability weapons and to improve the upgrade cycle:

  • When upgrading a weapon, 25% of its maximum durability is now repaired.

WEAPON DOWN & DURABILITY

Embark reduces the number of weapons found at the edge of the map to increase the value and excitement of high-level areas and closed rooms.

Embark increases the range of durability with which weapons can spawn while simultaneously reducing the average durability outside closed rooms. This should be balanced out by the new repair feature when upgrading.

  • Average durability of found weapons: 50 → 30

These changes mean that you might find weapons with only 15 durability at the edge, while in closed rooms you will continue to find weapons with around 60 durability.

DURABILITY LOSS WHEN SHOT

Embark has heard the dissatisfaction that maintaining high-level weapons is very expensive compared to low-level ones. The team wants high-level weapons to have longer durability than low-level ones. Therefore, the durability loss when shot will be adjusted accordingly:

  • Common weapons: +75% durability loss when shot
  • Uncommon weapons: +50% durability loss when shot
  • Rare weapons: +35% durability loss when shot
  • Epic weapons: -5% durability loss when shot
  • Legendary weapons: -10% durability loss when shot

WEAPON DURABILITY LOSS WHEN UNCONSCIOUS

Embark wants intense PvP to remain a meaningful playstyle for ARC Raiders. To adapt this playstyle to other gameplay styles, weapon durability loss will be reduced by 50% when a player becomes unconscious.

  • Durability loss on weapons of unconscious players: -30% durability → -15% durability

ARC

  • Comets have been removed from standard sessions on the Dam Battlegrounds.
  • The number of fireflies on the Dam Battlegrounds has been greatly reduced.
  • The number of comets in the Buried City has been reduced.

Developer note: The addition of comets and fireflies increased the difficulty in beginner sessions too much. To bring the player experience back to the desired level, we decided to reduce their numbers in the most affected sessions.

GAMEPLAY

Stella Montis

  • The distribution of Exodus recycling materials has been adjusted to distribute them more evenly across containers.

ITEMS

Evaporator Regulator

  • Stack size increased from 1 to 3

Trigger Grenade

  • Developer note: It is no longer possible to throw a new grenade while triggering one that has already been thrown. Instead, you have to wait until the animations are completed. This should reduce the spamming of the trigger grenade by increasing the delay between the grenades, effectively preventing the ability to ignite a second grenade prematurely with the first one.
  • A delay of 1 second has been added after throwing before the next throw/trigger action is possible.
  • A delay of 1.3 seconds has been added after triggering before the next throw/trigger action is possible.

Photoelectric Cloak

  • The weight of the photoelectric cloak has been increased from 1 to 3 to better match its rarity/cost.
  • Increased energy consumption rate from 2.5/s to 10/s
  • Developer note: The photoelectric cloaking has been significantly too strong until now, especially regarding its activation duration. This change aims to make the deployment mindful. The strength of the cloaking remains the same in the activated state, but you may now need to seek cover earlier or rethink your approach in heavily contested areas by ARC.

WEAPONS

Bettina Balancing

Developer note: The Bettina has been improved to match its rarity. The base damage and damage against ARC armor have been increased to maximize the usefulness of each bullet. At the same time, the base fire rate has been reduced. The spread has been adjusted to allow for longer bursts of fire without loss of accuracy. The stack size of heavy ammunition has been increased to simplify carrying the required ammunition. These changes should make each shot more effective while increasing the hit rate if you control your bursts well.

  • Base damage increased from 14 to 16
  • Base fire rate reduced from 285 to 235
  • Spread per shot reduced by about 40% (making the spread slower)
  • Spread recovery time improved by about 30%
  • Damage against ARC armor increased by about 33%

Heavy Ammunition

  • Stack size increased from 40 to 60
