All players set their PC vertically, but one does it radically different: he lays his computer down. This decision is causing a stir in the community. There are concerns mainly about the installed water cooling and the pump.
What is the player doing? The player posted a picture of his setup or rather of his gaming PC. And he has made the decision to lay his computer down instead of setting it up vertically like everyone else. He himself explains that this should only have advantages for him:
- The GPU cannot stress the PCIe slot as much, so there is no “sagging of the GPU.”
- According to the player, all connections on the PC are easily accessible, especially at the back where most of them are located.
- As another advantage, he mentioned, that the PC is now under his desk and thus out of the way.
He himself writes in his post on Reddit that he has had his PC in this position for 4 years and has had no problems since then. Apart from dirt and dust, which still find their way into his computer. A problem that is just hard to avoid.
How is the community reacting? Surprised and predominantly positively impressed by the action. And some point out that people used to always lay down their computers: users refer to old computers where this was completely normal (Reddit.com):

The bulky CRT monitors that some may still remember stood on the horizontally laid case of the computer on the desk. This combination of monitor and PC case was found in many offices back then and sometimes also in people’s homes. Today, computers are increasingly disappearing under desks or even migrating to the cloud.
Is there any criticism? Some users question whether the installed water cooling can really work in this state: because the pump should never be the highest point in the cooling system, as that can lead to air bubbles and other problems.
However, one can only speculate about the condition since the inside of the PC cannot be seen in the picture. Furthermore, the user explained in his initial post that he has had his PC lying this way for 4 years and has had no problems since.
Better than a user who tried to combine his water cooling with the icy outside air of his region.
