How much money does each heist bring in GTA Online? We show you all the heists and where you can earn the most money.
What are heists? In GTA Online, heists are a group activity. Typically, 2 to 4 players are needed to start them. The Cayo Perico heist broke this rule: it is the only heist that you can play completely alone.
Heists are a PvE activity. They are usually divided into different acts or stages. From preparation, through smaller missions to the big finale. The finale pays players a considerable amount of GTA dollars.
In this overview, we briefly introduce each heist and show how much money you can earn there. This way, you will quickly know which ones are particularly worthwhile if you want to get rich in GTA Online.
The Standard Heists
The following five heists were the first to enter the online world of GTA 5. For the Fleeca Job, you only need two players. The other four heists are played with four players each. The standard heists come in easy, medium (normal), and hard difficulty levels.
Later heists only have two difficulty levels, omitting “easy”.
The Fleeca Job – $250,250
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $11,500 GTA dollars.
How many players? 2 players
What happens there? In this heist, you need to rob the Fleeca bank. It is a small branch. During the drive, the passenger hacks the bank’s security. When you reach the job site, one player holds the hostages at bay and threatens them with his weapon or gunfire. The other player cracks the safe with the drill and steals the loot.
Then both players get into the car with the loot, break through some roadblocks, and are picked up by a helicopter. It is equipped with a huge magnet to lift the getaway vehicle off the road.

The Prison Break – $875,000
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $40,000 GTA dollars.
How many players? 4 players
What happens there? The Prison Break consists of four setup missions and a finale. Lester introduces you to Agent 14. He wants you to help someone escape from prison and then bring them to safety.
In the setup missions, you need to steal vehicles and eliminate people who play a key role in the story. You also acquire the transportation plan of the prison.
In the finale, everything revolves around the escape. Once that’s done, you take the person to an airport. Once you reach the checkpoint in the air, your crew jumps out of the plane with parachutes.

The Humane Labs Raid – $1,181,500
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $54,000 GTA dollars.
How many players? 4 players
What happens there? The heist at Humane Labs is organized again by Agent 14, whom you already met during the Prison Break. It consists of five setup missions and a finale.
This time, you are supposed to raid the “Humane Labs and Research” facility and find clues about bio-weapons. In the setup missions, you steal the key codes, insurgent vehicles, and a Valkyrie attack helicopter. You also steal and deliver the EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse Device).
In the finale, you can expect action. The four players are divided into two teams. One team does the ground work and breaks into the building. The other team supports the ground crew from the air, taking down attackers from there.

Series A Funding – $883,750
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $40,400 GTA dollars.
How many players? 4 players
What happens there? In the heist “Series A Funding,” you meet Trevor, who you already know from the story of GTA 5. He has negotiated a drug deal. However, he is missing something – the drugs. This heist runs differently from the rest, as the finale is not the big theft.
The heist consists of five setup missions in which you each steal different drugs. In the finale, you need to bring the stolen drugs to Trevor. On the way there, you run into the gangs from whom you stole the stuff. They are not happy about it and try to get their goods back with violent force.
If you manage to bring the drugs to Trevor, there will be a surprise at the end of the story.

The Pacific Standard – $1,875,000
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $100,000 GTA dollars.
How many players? 4 players
What happens there? In the Pacific Standard heist, you will again have five setup missions and a finale. Although you have to pay a hefty sum in preparation costs here, it’s also about a lot. You are supposed to rob the main branch of the Pacific Standard Bank in downtown.
In the setup missions, you steal vehicles, including your getaway motorcycles. You also prepare for an important hack. Because in the finale, you have to storm the bank and take it under your control. To steal the loot, the hack must be applied.
Stuff your pockets as full as possible. Then it’s out of the bank and to the getaway motorcycles. You can also take other vehicles. A wild chase follows, leading through a canyon to the sea.

The Doomsday Heists
This heist is divided into three different acts, which pay you out. These are basically three small heists. To start the heists, you need to be a CEO, VIP, or a member of a motorcycle club. Because you need a base for the heists. In such a base, there is a planning room for the Doomsday Heist.
The Data Breaches – $1,218,750
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $65,000 GTA dollars.
How many players? 2 to 4 players
What happens there? After seven preparation missions, you need to fight your way with your crew to an IAA base and eliminate the Merryweather agents there.
If you succeed, you fight your way to an armory. From there, you can control towers and take down heavily armed Merryweather agents.
Once everything is taken out, the mission is completed.

The Bogdan Problem – $1,781,250
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $95,000 GTA dollars.
How many players? 2 to 4 players
What happens there? In the Bogdan Problem, you can expect nine preparation missions and then the finale. First, you acquire important data and vehicles.
The crew is divided in the finale into ground and air teams. The one on the ground is actually in the water, with the Stromberg vehicles. The water team attempts to find access to the submarine and must then find a contact person inside to steal information about the enemy.
The team in the air is in a heavily armed Avenger and repels opponents. Among these attacks, they are hit by attack helicopters.
If the crew in the water finds the “enemy,” the submarine starts self-destruction. The crew must escape before it explodes. Then you have to shoot down opponents and make your escape in the air.

The Doomsday Scenario – $2,250,000
What does it cost? The preparation costs are $120,000 GTA dollars.
How many players? 2 to 4 players
What happens there? This act is narratively the grand finale of the Doomsday Heists. Together with your crew, you first choose one of the two provided vehicles. A Barrage ATV with machine guns and grenade launchers or a TM-02 Khanjali tank. The TM-02 is among the 5 vehicles in GTA Online that everyone should own.
With one of the vehicles, you then speed to the secret base on Mount Chiliad and must fight some enemies there. Along the way, you also destroy supply crates.
Your crew must hack terminals to prevent a rocket launch, which is supposed to destroy all of Los Santos. Once that’s done, you should eliminate Avon Hertz, who wants to escape with a jetpack. With your crew and jetpacks, you pursue him and must fend off attack helicopters. The ultimate task is to take out Avon and the Clifford program.

The Casino Heist – 3 Scenarios – Up to $3,619,000
In the casino heist, you must first spy on the casino. Depending on the loot you find there, it will affect the payment for you and your crew.
Aside from events that cause diamonds to spawn more frequently, there is no way to influence which loot awaits you. This can be cash, artworks, gold, or diamonds.
Every time it’s about robbing the casino. Based on your tactics, the approach changes slightly each time. Ultimately, you are to find a way into the casino, steal the loot from the vault, and then seek a buyer who will buy the stolen goods from you.

The Diamond Casino Heist – Huge Scam
What happens there? In this version of the casino heist, you disguise yourself with your crew to gain “legal” access to the casino. You can do this as an exterminator, janitor, police officer, or Yung Ancestor.
In the vault, you have to hack security doors and drill open safety deposit boxes.
For an easier escape, you can then use further disguises found in the laundry room. These could be firefighter uniforms, SWAT gear, or high-roller outfits. If you get spotted, you’ll need to fight your way out and to the getaway vehicles. If you succeed and lose the cops, you can drive to the buyer and complete the heist.
The Diamond Casino Heist – Quiet & Stealthy
What happens there? In this approach, you must reach the vault undetected. You have a stun gun to temporarily disable cameras and metal detectors or take out guards.
Whoever completes the EMP mission beforehand can use this item to shut down power in the casino for a minute. This disables lights, cameras, and detectors. In addition, guard visibility is reduced to locate you.
Arriving at the vault, you must drill it open and loot it, then sneak your way through the building to the outside. However, shortly after leaving the vault, the alarm goes off.
Outside, you must escape from the police and, as usual, flee in your getaway vehicles to finally visit the buyer of the stolen loot.
The Diamond Casino Heist – Aggressive
What happens there? The aggressive approach demands all your weapon skills. From the get-go, it’s all about blasting your way to the vault with raw firepower and escaping again with it.
As a preparation mission, you can unlock bulkier armor. Once you put this on, you will move slower but can take more damage than usual.
This time, you will not drill open the vault but blast your way through. Inside, you also won’t have to hack but can use thermite charges to open the security doors.
After looting, you will have to fight against many more police officers and SWAT units.
After that, it’s as usual to the getaway vehicles, with which you then go to find the buyer.

The Cayo Perico Heist – Up to $4,570,600
How much does it cost? The preparation costs are $25,000 GTA dollars.
How many players? 1 to 4 players. This is the first heist in GTA Online that can be played solo.
What happens there? The Cayo Perico Heist was newly introduced in December 2020. The update was special because the new heist takes place on the first map expansion of GTA Online.
In this heist, you are tasked with obtaining important information from El Rubio. Rubio is the drug lord who resides on his own island.
After buying a submarine, you must first spy on the island. In addition to the important information from Rubio, you will also find paintings, grass, coke, cash, and gold there.
The heist is divided into fulfilling primary and secondary objectives. You should complete the primary ones. With the secondary ones, you can also fill your pockets and account.

Although you can also complete this heist completely solo, it brings you less loot. With more players, you have more pockets to fill in the secondary objectives. However, you also give your teammates a cut of the total loot. So you’ll have to decide for yourself what works best for you.
Bonus: Contracts and Raids
What are contracts and raids? Rockstar Games distinguishes between heists, raids, and contracts, even though all three types of missions have a very similar structure.
- In contracts and raids, you also have to play a series of preparation missions before you can fill your pockets in the grand finale.
- However, contracts yield significantly less money than the actual heists, but consist of fewer missions. Moreover, the narrative part of contracts is usually much smaller and less significant.
- There are also differences in raids compared to normal heists, such as the fact that the reward cannot be divided and the leader gets everything.
The first contract robberies were introduced with the “Los Santos Tuners” update in GTA Online and are part of the auto shop – a business that you can acquire. Since then, more mission series in the style of the auto shop contracts have been added to the game. So far, only the Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid is available as a raid.

What is that? The scrapyard offers you 5 different heist scenarios, in which you receive a vehicle as a reward. Every week, three vehicles are selected that are the subject of the robbery. You can then either sell the vehicles to Yusuf Amir or dismantle them at your scrapyard – the latter yields slightly less money.
The sale price of the vehicles and thus your earnings fluctuate because each week different cars in various versions are available in one of the 5 heist scenarios.

FIB Files (1-4 Players)
What is that? There are a total of 4 different mission series that you can play once a week. Each week, one of the four mission series is marked as a “Priority File” (Files with priority) and earns double money during that week.

What is that? The Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid is a type of contact mission from LSPD Officer Vincent Effenburger, who commissions you to disrupt the activities of a cartel. You can easily start the mission series by driving to the “V” on the map and talking to Vincent. You don’t need any companies or anything similar.
Reward: $500,000 for the leader (helpers receive $50,000)
Needed: Nothing
