When is the release of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2? There is currently no exact date for the start of the second season. Filming wrapped up in the summer of 2026.
According to Forbes, the time between the end of filming and the release of Season 1 was 16 months. If this happens again, Season 2 would appear at the end of 2027. However, this is just speculation.
Is there a book adaptation? The first season was based on the first novel, “The Hedge Knight”. Consequently, the second season adapts the second of three novellas. It is called “The Sworn Sword”.

Who stars in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2? Fans can of course look forward to the return of the two main actors Peter Claffey as Duncan and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg.
No other cast members have been officially confirmed yet. However, rumors are circulating about Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody), who is said to play Lady Rohanne Webber.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2: Stream, Episodes, and Seasons
Where can the series be streamed? As with Season 1, the sequel will also go directly to the streaming service HBO Max, which has been available in Germany since January 2026. The episodes of the first season were released weekly, so this is to be expected for Season 2 as well.
How many episodes and seasons will there be? Just like Season 1, the second season will also contain six episodes, each lasting about half an hour.
The underlying novella is supposed to be adapted precisely. Showrunner Ira Parker told IGN:
We will again adhere closely to the book. Although there might be a few minor deviations here and there, we did that often in Season 1 as well. Everything should naturally fit into the world and Dunk’s perspective.
The third novella, “The Mystery Knight”, will be adapted in the third season. If the creators keep the pace, we can expect the series finale in 2028.
Besides that, George R.R. Martin is already thinking about more stories with the mismatched duo Dunk and Egg (via winteriscoming.net). More seasons in the future are therefore not to be ruled out.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2: Plot
What is the second season about? In Season 1, Dunk and Egg got to know each other. The continuation takes place some time later. The duo encounters new characters on their adventures, including Lady Rohanne Webber. She is also called “Red Widow” and is referred to by many as a witch who is said to be responsible for the deaths of her first four husbands.
The politically savvy ruler is in conflict with the knight Ser Eustace Osgray, to whom Duncan pledges his loyalty.
As showrunner Ira Parker revealed to IGN, the second season will focus on themes such as blind loyalty. In the first season, it was mainly about fathers and sons and what is passed on to the next generation.
