What is it about? Menma and her friends often played together in their childhood. However, after her tragic accidental death, the group fell apart and drifted away. Years later, the spirit of the aged Menma suddenly appears before the leader of the group, Jenta. Only he can see her.
Menma explains to him that she has an unfulfilled wish. Therefore, the estranged friends must be brought together again to figure out what this wish is so that Menma can finally find her peace.
Why is the length perfect? The story primarily revolves around the emotional process of coping with grief. The plot takes place over a single summer. The 11 episodes are exactly the right length to let the emotions boil over without the drama feeling artificial.
