What is it about? Odokawa is a cynical taxi driver who perceives people in the world as animals. For example, he sees himself as a walrus. The taxi driver engages in trivial conversations with his passengers and lives his life.
However, one day a school-aged girl goes missing in the city. Gradually, it becomes clear that all the passengers who booked a taxi ride with Odokawa are somehow linked to the case. The taxi driver drives all kinds of people, from internet stars to the Yakuza.
Why is the length perfect? The anime feels like a long feature film that has simply been divided into 13 parts. Every little detail mentioned in Episode 1 and all subsequent episodes is important for the finale in Episode 13.
The story is essentially like a puzzle where the pieces extend over the individual episodes. Once the last piece is placed and the big reveal comes at the end, the picture is complete. An extension would have created unnecessary pieces.
