The actor of Homelander has not only appeared in the series “The Boys.” One of his other appearances was in a 2-minute sketch, where Homelander’s face looks even more absurd than this comedy series already is. But in the best way.
What kind of series is this? It is a sketch from the Netflix series “Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun” by the comedy trio Aunty Donna. The group is mainly known and loved for their absurd humor, which is expressed in short sketches, songs, and quirky characters.
In the first episode, Antony Starr, the actor of Homelander from The Boys, also appears. However, not as a frightening supe. In the 2 minutes of screentime, he shows how funny Homelander’s face can be in a format like Auntie Donna.
From Homelander to Stray Man
In the sketch, Anthony Starr plays a seemingly ordinary man, who is referred to by a member of the trio as a “stray.” He met him on the street like a stray dog, took him home, bathed him, cared for him, and… yes, also neutered him. As a reward for good behavior, he receives a solid and firm handshake.
The sketch drifts further into the absurd when the Homelander-looking and humiliated “stray” turns to the roommate of his “master,” but we don’t want to spoil much more at this point.

I watched Auntie Donna after I was made aware of their first sketch “Everything’s a Drum.” After that, I knew: somehow these guys just hit my humor.
Seeing Antony Starr’s face out of nowhere in such a series just completely surprised me. This happened while I was actively watching The Boys anyway. It made the scene even better for me.
Therefore, I just want to give a strong recommendation for Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun, just as I have already done with many friends. I know that their over-absurd and sometimes nonsensical sequences of “What the hell” are not everyone’s cup of tea. Aunty Donna consciously places sense below timing and surprise effect. However, if you enjoyed the first sketch, you should give the entire season a chance.
My personal tip: Take a break after one or two episodes. Otherwise, the over-the-top style loses its effect.
