Capcom and Monster Hunter World asked fans to submit new weapon designs. One of them will be included in the big Iceborne expansion. Now the developers are calling for a vote: Which weapon should win?
This is what the vote is about: As has happened several times in the past, Capcom recently started a fan competition focused on weapon designs.
Fans were encouraged to submit their own ideas, designs, and weapon creations. After the submission deadline, a vote will take place where fans can cast their votes on the various designs.
Now it’s time, and you can help decide. The call can be found on the official Twitter page of Monster Hunter World:
How do I participate in the vote? Click on the link to the Twitter post. Right below, you will find the individual images of the candidates.
You can give a heart to your favorite. The participant with the most likes wins and will be immortalized in the Iceborne DLC.

A total of 20 fan creations are up for election:
This is the current status: On the English/North American Twitter account of MHW, the “Punchlance” is in the lead (as of March 24, 2:24 PM).
This weapon design features a pair of mechanical fists and belongs to the gunlance category.
One fist serves as the shield function, while the other is the gunlance.
Some fans were already confident of victory, but forgot about the Japanese entries in the vote.
On the Japanese Twitter account, the “Feather Chargeblade” is currently in the lead.
This energy blade looks like a fan decorated with feathers and could be straight out of the Final Fantasy universe.
Fans are currently having heated discussions over the close race between the two fan designs.
On Reddit, it has been jokingly titled “The Current State of MHW,” calling it the “Civil War” after the Marvel storyline:
If the current standings hold until the end of the vote, some players are already suggesting bringing both weapons into the game since each would win a vote.
When does the voting end? You should hurry, as the voting ends tomorrow, March 25 at 7 PM.
There will also be more votes for armor and Palico gear, so the contest will continue for a while.
