This week you can earn new mounts relatively quickly in WoW . If you don’t have the Nether Drakes yet, you should definitely start now.
Currently, you can find a second weekly event in World of Warcraft due to the announcement of Burning Crusade Classic. The Timewalking for “The Burning Crusade” is active, allowing you not only to visit old dungeons but also to quickly gain reputation with some factions – including the Netherwing.
What are the Netherwing? The Netherwing are a special dragonflight that lives in the shattered world. They primarily appear in Shadowmoon Valley, where they are used by the Orcs as mounts and weapons. As a player, you aim to free the Netherwing while simultaneously undermining the Orcs to take out their leaders.
At the end, you are rewarded with your own Nether Dragon as a flying mount. If you want, you can buy additional colors for 100 gold each.
What kind of trick is this? Through the Timewalking “The Burning Crusade”, there is currently a hefty reputation bonus of 50% on all quests and reputation gains with the factions of this expansion. This is particularly lucrative for the Netherwing. You start at “Hated”, which means you are hostile. However, after completing a questline, your reputation will jump to “Neutral”.
The 50% bonus ensures that after the quest you earn a whopping 63,000 reputation points (as a Human even a bit more), thus jumping from Hated directly to Revered! You will then just have to collect the missing reputation points from Revered to Exalted. Although that will still take a few days, it saves a lot of time.
Where does the questline start? The questline starts with the NPC Mordenai in the southeast of Shadowmoon Valley (shattered world). The first quest is called “Kindness” and asks you to feed some Netherwing. Just follow this questline until you reach the mission “Ally of the Netherwing”. This grants the hefty reputation bonus you are after upon completion.
By the way, it is worth farming a bit more reputation after completing the quest. The bonus also applies to daily missions or turning in Nether Eggs.
What if you’ve already started? If you’ve already completed the intro quest with your main character and have since left the Netherwing on hold, you might want to play a second character. Since this twink starts at Revered right after completing the quest, he can significantly faster complete the last part of the reputation grind and unlock the mounts in just a few days.
Have you already got the Nether Drakes? Or are you taking the opportunity to finally catch up with this faction?
Many WoW players are currently angry with Blizzard – a small sentence bears the blame for that.
