WoW: The latest content was so bugged that Blizzard breaks its own rules

WoW Game Master Holding Sands of Time titel title 1280x720

Patch 12.1.5 of World of Warcraft has been so full of bugs that even a legendary achievement is being extended. Good news for anyone looking for an exclusive title.

The time is running out for those who want to obtain the title “Fabled Conqueror of the first Hash’ey” in World of Warcraft Midnight – or so it was thought. Because Blizzard admits that Patch 12.1.5 indeed had many bugs and has extended the time limit by one week.

What was the problem? Defeating Kindo’jan at level 11 is generally not that difficult if you pay attention to its mechanics. However, the problem was: whether you could even reach Kindo’jan was determined by luck because you could encounter devastating bugs in the maze that ruined the entire run.

Since you had to clear all 9 chambers of the maze for the fight against Kindo’jan, it could be frustrating if after more than an hour progress was halted in chamber 8 or 9 due to a bug. Many players simply didn’t have the leisure time and patience to play through the maze multiple times due to bugs.

One more week for all achievement collectors

What has changed? Blizzard has changed the time limit to achieve the achievement “Let Me Solo Him: Kindo’jan”. You now have one more week. Blizzard stated in the official WoW forum:

We acknowledge that there were bugs in the first week of the content update for Patch 12.1.5 that affected the ability to complete the maze, including for those who attempted to achieve “Let Me Solo Him: Kindo’jan”. We have now fixed the majority of the bugs, and to account for players whose experience in the first week was affected by these bugs, we are extending the deadlines for completing the achievement by another week. This gives players the chance to complete the achievement by the weekly maintenance on [October 28].

What does this mean? The change not only means that you simply have 7 more days, but there are also further implications. With the maintenance tomorrow (October 21, 2026), some limitations in Season 2 of Midnight will be lifted. The cap for emblems will be removed, and additionally, trinkets, weapons, and necklaces can be further upgraded. Thus, the maximum accessible item level will increase even more, making Kindo’jan’s (already quite simple) difficulty even more trivial.

Anyone who has not yet defeated Kindo’jan should definitely secure the title. Our guide shows how you can easily defeat Kindo’jan.

Cortyn says: Patch 12.1.5 with all the bugs in the maze is likely to go down in history as one of the bigger shames of the game. Although the move to extend the achievement by a week is clearly the right one, it shouldn’t have come to this.

At least: anyone who still wants the achievement can now try to complete the hopefully error-free maze. It’s a nice title that in a few years no one will likely ask how it was actually obtained. Meanwhile, I’ll get started on writing a complaint Wednesday – at some point, the cup is simply full. Because Patch 12.1.5 is simply a shame that you should not play.
