Stormwind is also getting a “small adjustment” in WoW: Battle for Azeroth. We tell you what is happening with the capital of the Alliance.
The alpha of Battle for Azeroth is in full swing. More and more information about the next addon of World of Warcraft is being released as streamers explore every corner of the playable expansion. There have also been some new revelations about the fate of the capitals of the Horde and Alliance.

The Liberation from Stormwind
A few days ago, we reported that Saurfang is captured by the humans during the battle for Undercity and imprisoned in the dungeons of Stormwind. The Horde cannot let that slide and organizes a classic rescue operation.
With the help of the Highmountain Tauren eagles, a small elite team consisting of Rokhan, Thalyssra, and Lasan Skyhorn stealthily infiltrates Stormwind during a nighttime operation and storms the dungeons. In the course of the rescue, not only is Saurfang saved, but also important leaders of the Zandalari – Princess Talanji and Zul the Prophet.
The Alliance notices the escape attempt and it doesn’t take long for Jaina Proudmoore and Genn Greymane to give chase. The forces have just returned from Lordaeron and think very little of the Horde invading their capital.
In the final showdown, just before the rescue, the heroes of the Horde are frozen by Jaina and face certain death.
However, Zul the Prophet sets a trap during the escape and conjures flames that threaten to burn down all of Stormwind. The houses catch fire and in the scenario, it looks like a large part of the city will go up in flames.
Jaina must choose between saving the city and pursuing, and she decides to save the city and deal with the flames so that the Horde can escape.
The YouTuber Nobbel has played through the entire scenario, still without missing cutscenes. Stormwind in flames can be seen at minute 22:32.
What exactly will happen to Stormwind is still uncertain. Presumably there will be some permanent damage indicating the attack. The city itself will likely remain intact, as otherwise the Alliance would have lost two capitals.
