For many weeks, the riddle community of World of Warcraft has tried to find the source of J’imothy.
The community has long speculated about how to unlock the latest pet in World of Warcraft. Leads were followed, the whole world turned upside down – and in the end, the solution is simple, because the little raccoon with the shortened back is easy to find. He is basically waiting in Silvermoon for his pick-up.
Who is J’imothy? In the real world, Jimothy is a raccoon discovered in Seattle. It is noticeable that the raccoon moves rather peculiarly, which is due to its shortened spine. Especially in social media like TikTok, Jimothy became a star, and many posted videos and small clips whenever they spotted the raccoon – for many, he is a celebrity.
Since there are raccoons in World of Warcraft as well, some fans immediately demanded: There should also be a reference to J’imothy in the game.
The developers quickly responded and included the raccoon in Patch 12.1 The Curse of Ula’tek.
Unlock J’imothy in WoW – Here’s what you need to do
How do you unlock J’imothy? Even though the riddle community searched for a long time, in the end, it was a release from Blizzard that made J’imothy accessible. You unlock the pet as follows:
Travel to Silvermoon and visit three different locations where you can find J’imothy at these coordinates:
- Location 1: 51 / 55
- Location 2: 58 / 42
- Location 3: 29 / 47
At one of the three locations, you should see an arcane sphere hovering above the ground, in which J’imothy is trapped. The sphere has 100 stacks of a buff that you need to remove.
Warning: J’imothy may not be found at any of the 3 locations because he was just freed by another group. In that case, simply wait a few minutes and check the locations again.
You can remove the 100 stacks of “Stability of the Barrier” by interacting with the arcane sphere. After that, the sphere will begin to emit arcane pulses that you need to dodge. If you touch a pulse, you will be pushed back and the channeling will break.
The more characters you bring, the faster the process goes, by the way. With 5 people, you only need about a minute, whereas it takes significantly longer alone.
After the barrier is dissolved, J’imothy simply drops to the ground. Interact with him to pet him – and now you have the new, somewhat peculiar pet for your collection and can take him on all adventures.
