The beta of WoW: Forever should answer many of the remaining questions. For example, regarding official addon support. According to pixeltwelve.com, the new World of Warcraft will use the same rules as the modern Midnight. Therefore, addons that process combat information to automatically set markings and warnings will likely not be supported.

What do I need to know about the beta of WoW: Forever? The beta of WoW: Forever starts today, on September 17, 2026. Start time is probably around 8 PM, at the end of Blizzard’s Q&A stream. Anyone who has secured the paid Epic or Collection versions of Forever can participate. Additionally, interested parties can register for the beta and hope for an invitation.
The beta is supposed to run until October 22, 2026. All beta participants are expected to be able to level up to level 30 during this time. What do I need to know about the Q&A? It will take place on September 17, 2026, at 7:00 PM on the official Twitch and YouTube channels of Warcraft. First, there will be a half-hour discussion about modern World of Warcraft. Then, starting at 7:30 PM, WoW: Forever will be on the agenda.
The total duration of the stream is unclear. According to a post by the developers on Reddit, the beta of WoW: Forever is supposed to go live right after the stream ends, likely around 8:00 PM.
