WoW Forever: Traveling Efficiently, Avoiding Long Walks, and Your First Mount

World of Warcraft: Forever is different from modern WoW, but also from Classic. With our tips, you'll embark on the new Azeroth adventure in the best possible way. This page is about traveling and your first mount.

Long travel times are simply part of classic World of Warcraft. Therefore, every opportunity to shorten travel times, take shortcuts, or secure your first mount is all the more important.

• Your first mount is unlocked only at level 40. Until then, you travel mainly on foot through Azeroth. Only Druids and Shamans can use their travel form for this.
• For the first mount and the corresponding riding skill (available at level 40), you should budget around 100 gold. This is a lot of gold at the beginning, which is why experienced players try to avoid unnecessary expenses until then and refrain from expensive skill unlocks from the trainer that have little or no usefulness during the leveling phase.
• The epic riding at level 60 costs about 1,000 gold. Classes such as Paladins and Warlocks can secure special mounts through their respective class quests.
• Bind your hearthstone at locations you need to travel to often (such as capitals like Orgrimmar or Stormwind) or at the inns of large quest hubs that will keep you busy for several hours (like the crossroads in the Barrens).
• Activate every flight point you come across. After hearthstone, Mage portal, and Warlock summoning, the flight taxi in Azeroth is the fastest way to travel. Distant flight routes only work if you have also activated the stopovers.
• You can only reach the other continent without assistance from Warlocks and Mages by Zeppelin or ship. Large portal rooms like in modern WoW do not exist in Forever.
• If you’re in a settlement or city and don’t know where the bank or a particular trainer is, talk to a guard. Through a selection menu, you can quickly select whom or what you’re looking for. Your destination will be shown to you on the map.
