The stress test of World of Warcraft Classic was supposed to take place next week. However, Blizzard has now canceled it.
In about 6 weeks, it will finally happen; fans of WoW Classic can officially dive back into the vanilla version of their MMORPG. But before that Blizzard wanted to launch a major stress test to test, among other things, the European servers. There will also be German servers at release.
But now there has been a small setback. The stress test of WoW Classic, which was supposed to take place next week, has been canceled for now.
What happened? Blizzard announced in the official forum that the stress test planned for July 25 and 26 must be canceled. The announcement states that “they have come to the conclusion that we are not yet ready to conduct our global stress test.”
The test will be conducted at a later time. Blizzard has not yet announced a specific date for that, but they wanted to provide “new information soon.”
Is the release in danger? No. Blizzard emphasizes in the announcement that they are still on track to release WoW Classic later in August. The additional time for the stress test will likely not change their release plans.
If no unusual problems arise, WoW Classic will still be published on August 27, 2019.
