Many MMORPG players long for the “good old MMO feeling.” A player has now switched from Retail WoW to WoW Classic Season of Discovery and does not regret this decision at all.
Who is it about? On Reddit, the user DownvotesAreCringe shared his experiences with WoW Classic Season of Discovery with the community. He himself is a WoW retail player who has spent his playtime as a solo healer. At the end of the day, however, he is usually in a bad mood, regardless of whether the day went well or poorly.
One day he decided to check out the Season of Discovery and has not regretted it for a second since.

The Season of Discovery is much more than a “Retail light” version
What does the player enjoy so much about SoD? On Reddit, the user describes what he likes so much about the Season of Discovery. He has reportedly raided the Depths of Blackrock, completed quests, earned gold, and also taken down many players in the open world.
In the meantime, he has just freshly reached level 40 and, encouraged by the community, also dared to take on the new raid Gnomeregan. Initially, he was not very keen on it because some groups wanted to see logs for it, which intimidated him. But with encouragement from the community, he has been able to defeat 5 of the 6 bosses so far.
Especially the encounters with other players are fun for him. Although he is not in a guild, just the people he randomly meets are particularly special to him.
What is he looking forward to? Now that he has just reached the new maximum level, he wants to experience even more PvP content. Both battleground and open-world PvP excite him. He also advises other players to start with WoW Classic Season of Discovery:
I just wanted to mention all of this for those who are still unsure whether to start with SoD now or turn away from Retail WoW. It really is a great time, and it brings back that MMO feeling to WoW. I’m not even in a guild, but all the random public interactions I’ve had with other players make SoD really something special, more than I ever would have thought. I basically thought it was just a “light” version of retail; but it has proven to be so much more. I appreciate the SoD developers. They seem to be the only ones who still care about Warcraft.
