With Patch 1.0 and the core engine upgrade, the robust tank MMO World of Tanks suddenly looks brand new and sounds fantastic. Will the new look of World of Tanks also come to the PS4 and Xbox One versions?
Last week, we reported on the major refresh of World of Tanks. While the gameplay hasn’t changed, Wargaming has given its flagship game a renovation. The graphics and sound have significantly improved.
This is due to the new core engine, which suddenly adds more detail and depth to everything. Suddenly, the 8-year-old World of Tanks looks like a current game.
Console players excited about the new graphics splendor in World of Tanks
Our tank expert Jürgen described this World of Tanks 1.0 as the game he has always wanted.
Many console tank drivers are now asking, “Will all of this also come to our World of Tanks on PS4 and Xbox One?”
It’s up to the colleagues to decide
The page Buffed has asked Andrey Biletskiy, the Creative Director of World of Tanks.
He said that it wouldn’t be a technical problem. Although the core engine was developed 100% for PC, it could theoretically be brought to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The consoles easily meet the requirements, and the hurdles could be easily overcome.
However, the development of the PC version is completely separate from the development of the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Therefore, it is up to the colleagues responsible for the console versions to make this porting happen.
They have to decide whether to switch to the new core engine or to stick with the old engine.
Officially, there are currently no plans for the new fancy look to come to consoles. But it seems quite possible.
