What is the Cayo Perico Heist? Heists are robberies that you usually complete with up to four players. Cayo Perico is the latest heist in GTA Online and was released with a major update released on December 15, 2020. It is also a big exception, as you can complete the heist solo. In the heist, you must travel to the island of drug lord El Rubio and steal various items.
That’s why you should play the Cayo Perico Heist now: As part of the weekly rewards that change every week, players are currently getting extra cash.
Although the heist is already very lucrative, there is now even more money on top. So if you are thinking about how to make more GTA$ or if you wanted to try the heist, now is the perfect time to do so.
There is plenty of extra loot, no planning costs
This is how much money you can get per run now: Without the weekly bonus, the heist brings in around 4-5 million GTA$ per run. This amount consists of the completed objectives, for which you are rewarded with money. A list of all objectives and rewards can be found in our Guide to the Heists of GTA Online.
Now, with the weekly bonus, you will receive 50% extra for each stolen objective that you complete in the heist. Here are some examples of the objectives from the heist:
- Alcohol: Originally around 900,000 dollars, now 1,350,000 dollars
- Necklace: Originally 1,000,000 dollars, now 1,500,000 dollars
- Owner’s Loan: 1,100,000 dollars, now 1,650,000 dollars

Additionally, you save the planning costs before starting the heist as part of the event.
What are planning costs? Normally, you pay a certain basic fee before starting a heist. In this case, 25,000 dollars would be due. Thanks to the bonuses, there are no planning costs for the Cayo Perico Heist for a week.
How long is the bonus active in-game? The bonuses remain active for one week. So you can count on the extra loot until February 11.
