Place 2: Ultramarines
Even if many fans regard the Ultramarines more as a meme, the order is undeniably one of the strongest and almost the “greatest” of all Space Marines. Their dozens of successor orders are loyal to them, and the Ultramar system, their home world, is one of the largest systems in the Imperium.
Unlike the previously mentioned fighters, the Ultramarines are not wild, unconquerable fighters but simply the best strategists among the Space Marines. They stand out from all others due to:
- strategic thinking
- logistical planning
- and unbreakable adherence to rules.
Their discipline ensures that the Ultramarines can withstand almost any enemy in war with a good plan and perfect supply. Their Primarch, Roboute Guilliman, even created the Codex Astartes – the manifesto upon which all orders are based today.
Guilliman’s expertise ensures that his “sons” have a correspondingly good understanding of war, economics, and administration. To make this clear: Guilliman is so good at what he does, that he currently manages the Imperium as the new Emperor – at least until the boss himself returns.
