Place 4: Space Wolves
The perhaps most controversial order of the Space Marines are the Space Wolves – partly because even fans find them exaggerated. Space Wolves are basically Vikings in space, with everything that goes along with it in fantasy: brawling, drinking, honor, and wild celebrations. And of course: strong warriors.
To give you an idea: The Space Wolves’ alcohol, the Mjød, is so strong that it would simply eat through the intestines of mortals. Space Wolves drink it like beer.
How Space Wolves behave can be seen with a companion in Rogue Trader:
Of all the Space Marines, the Space Wolves are among the strongest. In battle, they are overwhelming because they often attack the enemy in packs. They act as small squads with rehearsed combat behavior and are often accompanied by giant wolves.
The fact that they are not counted among the best orders despite their strength is due to their lack of discipline. Although the Space Wolves are loyal, they have a strong aversion to authoritarian structures and tend to be a bit anarchistic.
The best example of their stubbornness and especially their hot blood is their Primarch Leman Russ. Russ is known for dealing with problems as directly as possible, which often means: with violence. His unruly nature has led to the Imperium experiencing its worst war – at least according to some fans.
