Why should I wait? As wowhead reports, many rewards from the open world in WoW Dragonflight scale with the items you are wearing. Simply put: the better your gear is, the better the rewards will be.
Since November 30, you can complete several activities from which you can draw epic items. However, some of them are limited to one reward per week or become weaker the more often you complete them. The most important ones are:
- Support the Accord (“Aiding the Accord”) in Valdrakken
- Siege of the Dragonbane Keep at the Coast of Awakening
- Great Hunts of the Maruuk in the Plains of Ohn’ahra
- The Feast of the Tuskarr in the Azure Span
- Test of the Flood in the Plains of Ohn’ahra
- Trial of the Elements in the alternative future of the Primalists
When should I redeem rewards? As a rule of thumb, you should aim to secure your rewards on Tuesday. From then on, it is unlikely that your item level will rise significantly further during that week.
However, since not everyone has the whole Tuesday available to complete the events in one go, you should at least have completed all mythic dungeons for the week. They have a fixed loot level of 372.
You can complete the quest “Support the Accord” and then keep it in your quest log to hand it in on Tuesday – before the weekly reset on Wednesday. In any case, make sure to improve your gear as much as possible before picking up the rewards.

WoW Dragonflight: Farming Epic Gear and Increasing Item Level
To improve your gear after reaching level 70, dungeons are particularly suitable. Heroic and mythic dungeons can be completed with a group as soon as you reach level 70, if you are confident that you can handle it.
Otherwise, PvP and world quests are excellent for getting further improvements. A particularly popular method is also the farming of rare mobs in the open world. The loot here also scales with your equipped level, but you can receive loot from each enemy daily. This was adjusted, after players exploited the system.

If you have very bad luck and have not gotten any improvements or simply want to upgrade individual slots, turn to crafting and trading. You’ll surely find offers for items in the guild or the auction house that can help you.
