Blizzard has released a first video about the trading post in World of Warcraft. Rewards and tasks can be seen.
One of the big features of Patch 10.0.5 in World of Warcraft is the trading post, which opens its doors in Orgrimmar and Stormwind. It is not available yet, because although Patch 10.0.5 is already live, the trading post is still waiting. The launch will be on February 1, 2023, marking the start of the first month.
In a short trailer, Blizzard has showcased the features and rewards that await all players.
The trading post is a new opportunity to earn numerous new rewards. The trailer shows, for example:
- An interesting cape that covers the head but also counts as a cloak.
- A blue longbow reminiscent of the blue dragonflight.
- An ogre baby as a pet.
- A flail with a burning enchantment.
How do you obtain the rewards? Every month, there is a large set of different tasks that can be completed. The tasks range from “typical” missions, such as completing mythic dungeons, to many creative assignments that require more unusual tasks. You can earn points by greeting all dragon aspects with a “/love”, resurrecting a certain number of players (as a healer), or consuming special food.
The variety of tasks is large, so every type of player should be able to find suitable missions. It is also not necessary to complete all tasks. A fraction should be enough to earn the maximum points per month and thus collect the currency “Trader’s currencies”.
For certain milestones, you will then receive Trader’s currencies, which you can use to shop at the trading post. Active subscribers also receive an additional 500 Trader’s currencies when they loot the box next to the trading post.
Especially cool: If you earn all 500 Trader’s currencies per month, then there is an additional reward – in the video, that’s a fancy saber cat that apparently changes its color depending on the time of day.
It’s also important to know that you don’t necessarily have to spend your Trader’s currencies immediately. The offer at the trading post changes every month, so something might be offered in March that aligns more with your interests.
