A new cinematic for World of Warcraft has been released. It features the incarnations that are already announcing a lot of stress.
In World of Warcraft, the wait for the next update will soon be over, as Patch 10.1.7 will launch in a few days. Blizzard has already released the cinematic for this patch, which gives a first taste of where the journey is headed. We see Fyrakk and Vyranoth – but also a familiar green dragon who is in peril.
What does the cinematic show? In the cinematic, we get to see Gerithus. He is a green dragon and the grandson of Ysera. Gerithus is currently threatened by the incarnation Fyrakk and is apparently in a severely wounded state.
Fyrakk reveals that he has been searching for “the aspect” and thus the mother of Gerithus – Merithra.
He then explains that he already knows that the green dragon flight is hiding a world tree and demands that Gerithus show the exact location of the tree.
However, since Gerithus refuses, Fyrakk resorts to dark torture methods – he threatens to scorch the other dragons even more intensely. It is also evident that Fyrakk enjoys this method of torture while the shadow flame exerts its influence over him.
Vyranoth appears and has to remind Fyrakk that they are better than the dragons that have imposed their fate on them. However, the fiery incarnation seems to care little about that and must first be stopped with force. Fyrakk takes this as an opportunity to turn against Vyranoth – and only after a test of strength does he regain his senses.
Gerithus even thanks Vyranoth afterwards for saving him from a terrible fate.
What’s in the new patch? Patch 10.1.7 is just a “small” update, therefore there are only a few new events, some fresh quest lines, and various novelties such as the traditional armor of the night elves and the undead.
Those who have stayed away from tough content so far will surely be glad that the mega-dungeon “Twilight of the Eternal” is finally available in heroic difficulty. This allows players to try out the dungeon without the performance pressure of the hard mode and to get ready for the bosses.
The release of Patch 10.1.7 in WoW is on September 6 and continues the second season of Dragonflight.
How things will continue with WoW, we will probably find out in early November, as the next addon is likely to be announced at BlizzCon.
