On Friday, September 9th, the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase took place. At the event, the developers of Avatar Reckoning, Archosaur Games, presented some impressions of the title presented as an MMORPG shooter. However, fans are disappointed because the showcased platform does not match their interest. What is behind this?
What game is it about? The game presented is Avatar Reckoning, an MMORPG shooter set in the universe of the popular film franchise Avatar. The free-to-play game is being developed by the Chinese studio Archosaur Games and published by Tencent.
As described during the showcase, there will be single-player missions as well as online multiplayer. The mentioned features include character customizations, weapon adjustments, and PvP modes across various maps.
On which platforms will the title be released? Avatar Reckoning is set to be released on mobile devices for iOS and Android (via avatarreckoning.com). We currently do not know if there will be crossplay between the two mobile platforms.
“I thought this was a next-gen game”
What do the fans say? Fans on YouTube are particularly disappointed that the showcased game is a mobile game. Some even thought it would be a next-gen or PS5 game.

When is the release? As of now (September 12, 2022), no official release date is known. However, in the video of the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, the developers say that Avatar Reckoning is to be released “soon”. (“Coming soon”).
