In Valorant will soon have new agents coming into the game. The hints suggest that there could be a new hero from Germany named “Bombshell.” We at MeinMMO have gathered all known information about the new champion for you here.
What is the new agent about? According to the developers at Riot Games, Valorant is supposed to receive 6 (!) new agents each year. The first two additional champions were
- Raze, who arrived in the beta in April
- the dark Reyna, who you could play from its release on June 2
For the start of Act 2, the next hero is already on the way. According to data miners, this is supposed to be a character named “Bombshell” or “Killjoy.” Currently, everything points to the agent Bombshell because voice lines have already been found in the files where the other agents talk about Bombshell.
Among others, Cypher wants to borrow Bombshell’s gadgets. Other agents make jokes about their size.
Release, Skills, Origin – More Info about Bombshell
Where does Bombshell come from? While the (code) name Bombshell – like almost all agent names – is in English and means “bomb,” there are hints that Bombshell might originate from Germany.
In the battle pass of Act 1, there is a background card for your heroes towards the end, showing a kind of file with a mech and other gadgets. Parts of the card are blacked out, and over everything, it clearly states – also in the English version of Valorant – the German word “Vertraulich.”
From the voice lines about Bombshell, we know that he or she is some kind of technician or engineer and “builds gadgets.” This suggests that Bombshell is indeed an engineer if the card from the battle pass refers to him.
Considering that Valorant also plays into various national stereotypes with its agents, the cliché of exceptional German engineering would fit well here.
What are Bombshell’s skills: Should Bombshell be the character who utilizes the confidential items on the card from the battle pass, he might have the following skills:
- You see a kind of barrel or capsule. Graphics for a type of fan with blades have already been found in the game. It’s quite possible that these capsules are rotating killer drones or some sort of trap that makes areas impassable.
- Another thing looks like a stationary turret. Something similar is used by the Swedish engineer Torbjörn in Overwatch to secure areas.
- The largest object on the card is a kind of bipedal mech. This could be Bombshell’s ultimate or even a hint at his or her appearance.
All in all, everything seems to indicate that Bombshell is a defensive agent who can effectively seal off and defend areas.
What does Bombshell look like? The voice lines often refer to Bombshell’s small stature. Therefore, some fans speculate that Bombshell is a short person who sits in the mech and thus compensates for his or her small size with a mechanical monster.
According to the developers, all agents in Valorant are supposed to be the same height. So if Bombshell were just over one meter tall, he or she would need the mech to reach normal human height.
However, this contradicts the fact that the mech would then be quite small, and there is already a silhouette of Bombshell that Riot recently showed in a teaser for Act 2.
There, you see a slender figure with a striking hairstyle and no indication of exceptional height (he/she carries a weapon of normal size) or a mech. So if the new character really is Bombshell, the mech might indeed be an ultimate that only appears briefly and develops considerable firepower.
What is Bombshell’s gender? Curiously, the silhouette of the new agent fits a previously unknown female agent who was shown in an earlier image from Riot. There, you see a woman with a striking undercut hairstyle. This fits very well with the outlines shown in the teaser recently. Thus, the third new agent in Valorant would also be a woman.
When will the new hero arrive? The first new heroine in Valorant, Raze, was released at the start of the beta on April 7. About 2 months later, the game was released with the agent Reyna. Since acts are supposed to last about 2 months each, Bombshell is expected to arrive with the start of Act 2, which would be no earlier than August.
As soon as we know more about the new agent – whether it really is a German engineer named Bombshell or something completely different – we will let you know here. In the meantime, you can keep yourself entertained by taking our quiz here. Find out which agent in Valorant you really are!
