In Valorant there is now a Battle Pass where you can unlock exclusive rewards. After some players expressed concerns about the required playtime, the developers tried to reassure them.
What is the Battle Pass all about? Like many shooters these days, Valorant has a Battle Pass after the release. With it, you can unlock levels on the Pass using experience points earned in the game, and thus receive rewards such as new weapon skins, profile backgrounds, or spray paints.
The Pass has 50 levels, and to unlock everything, you need to earn a whopping 1,372,000 XP. That is a massive amount, which would require a very long playtime. Many players were not happy with this, as one typically gets about 4,000 XP per game, and matches in Valorant can often last 40 minutes or longer. Therefore, to unlock everything, one would need to grind for well over 200 hours.
However, the developers have reassured players that it will go much faster than expected.

Here’s how long it takes to complete the Pass: Developer Joe Lee from Riot Games participated in a longer reddit discussion on the topic and calmed the concerns. According to him, you would be able to complete the Pass in about 100 hours. Since the Pass runs for 2 months, this should be feasible for any reasonably committed player.
The key to this timeframe is the weekly quests, which provide a significant bonus to XP. And unlike previously thought, the XP attainable via quests increases each week. This means you can quickly catch up if you haven’t been active in Valorant for a while.
Weekly XPs also scale each week to smooth out the experience curves. To give you an idea: the first row of Weeklys offers a total of 28,350 XP, and the last row offers 60,750 XP. This ensures that you are still able to progress through the levels of a Battle Pass at a healthy pace toward the end.
Additionally, the Weeklys will remain active until the end of the Pass, so you will not miss any weekly quests.
With this, most critics of the Battle Pass should now be reassured. Furthermore, the developers will also address the other issue with the Pass. Recently, Battle Pass rewards were not accessible to all players, even though they had been unlocked. However, a solution is reportedly in the works for that as well.
