The closed beta of Valorant ends on May 28, 2020. Until the release, the game will be offline. You can find out how the end of the beta looks, when it continues, and what you get for participating in the beta here.
When does Valorant go offline? Today, on May 28, 2020, at 6:00 PM our time, the beta of Valorant will end. This will happen as follows:
- At 5:59 PM you can start your last game.
- The player search queue ends at 6:00 PM; if you haven’t found a game by then, everything is closed.
- At 7:30 PM, it will be completely over. The servers will go offline, and you will no longer be able to play.
Release in June, no more Twitch drops needed
When is the release of Valorant? Until the release, Valorant will remain offline. As the team shooter will be released on June 2, you won’t be able to play throughout the entire Pentecost weekend. The developers likely need the time to optimize the game for release. They have not yet announced the time when the servers will be back online on June 2.
How to get into the release version? If you feared a return of the notorious Twitch drops for the release version of Valorant, you can rejoice. Because when Riot’s shooter finally officially launches, it will be available as a free-to-play title for every player.
For which platforms will Valorant be released? Valorant will initially be released only for PC. A version for PS4 and Xbox One could come eventually. The information about it remains quite vague.
What will change at release? At the start of Valorant, a lot will change, including:
- a new game mode
- a new agent
- a new map
What happens to my progress from the beta? It is mostly gone! Almost everything you unlocked in the last weeks will be deleted. The only thing left are the unlocks from the closed beta battle pass, including the cool gun buddies that were available there. So if you are one of the lucky ones who got to play in the beta, you can show off these goodies forever.
I got banned in the beta, what now? Riot doesn’t have much patience for cheaters, but it was announced that at least some banned players will be unbanned at launch. This is, however, the utmost end of their tolerance.
I spent real money in the beta – what will happen to that? Your purchased items from the cash shop are gone too! But you will get the in-game currency back, with a 20 percent bonus. So if you had bought 1,000 Valorant points, you will have 1,200 at launch. A refund in real money is not possible though.
I never got beta access, even though I watched Twitch like crazy: Then the developers have a small consolation prize for you. Players who have watched more than 2 hours of Twitch streams of Valorant but were never selected for a Twitch drop will at least receive an exclusive player card.
At launch, Valorant will surely be significantly enhanced. So it is possible that the controversial agent Raze will be nerfed again, as she can wipe out entire teams without weapons. This is considered by many players to be a breach of the game concept.
