What is this new LoL team? The multiple winners of the European Regional League of League of Legends, G2 Esports, has created a new roster in collaboration with the Scandinavian team NORD. The resulting team is called G2 NORD and aims to shake up the German pro scene.
What is Tolkin’s role in the team? The Twitch streamer and former LoL professional Tolkin has been announced as the president of G2 NORD. According to the blog post from G2 Esports, Tolkin is meant to drive the project’s vision forward and act as a bridge between competition, content, and the community (g2esports.com).
G2 NORD has high ambitions in the LoL pro scene
What does the new team want to achieve? G2 NORD has several goals within the LoL scene. The team wants to conquer the German Regional League Prime League and become German champions. The blog post also states that they want to become the strongest team in Germany.
According to the CEO of G2, the organization has given little love and attention to the most loyal fans, especially from Germany. The CEO further states: “This project is supposed to bring us closer together again, make us listen more closely, and build something that German fans can truly call their own.”
Additionally, new talents should be promoted, making it easier for players to transition to professional status.
