In the new shooter Valorant the first player in North America has reached the maximum rank in the ranked mode. Professional Twitch streamer Tyson “TenZ” Ngo has achieved Valorant, which is the highest rank in the shooter. He reached the rank just 30 hours after the ranked mode became active in North America.
This is the player: Tyson “TenZ” Ngo (18) is a former pro in CS:GO and plays for the US organization Cloud9. However, in 2019 the Canadian lost his main spot on the team. The young pro later mentioned that he had complained too much about the team’s style and was therefore benched. (via dexerto)
Instead of switching and continuing his eSports career elsewhere, TenZ became a “full-time streamer” for Cloud 9 on Twitch. He currently has 96,287 followers there.
- In Valorant, TenZ has thus far been only moderately successful as a streamer. In the last 30 days, he had an average of 488 viewers. The top streamer for Valorant, Anomaly, has 66,337 – he had 148 times as many viewers on average.
- But since it became clear how strong TenZ is, the interest in his channel has grown significantly. In his last Twitch stream on May 2 and 3, an average of 3,297 people wanted to watch, peaking at 5,037.
One can assume that the Cloud 9 streamer will soon have significantly more viewers than in recent weeks when he is active in Valorant.
This is how his rise in ranked began: On May 1 around midnight our time, Riot Games activated the “ranked mode” of Valorant in North America – in Europe the mode arrived around 9 AM.
After less than 4 hours, TenZ had already reached the “Immortal” tier and was ranked Immortal 1.
The next day, on May 2, TenZ started directly at Immortal 3.
About 5 hours after the stream started, at 6 AM on May 2, TenZ was able to reach the rank “Valorant”, which is the highest rank in the game.

Streamer seals max rank with strong match
He reached the rank after a 13-9 victory against some of the strongest players in Valorant. TenZ himself played 30-15 with the character Sage. He has certainly earned the title.
Riot Games later congratulated him on Twitter.
From the start of the ranked mode to TenZ’s ascent to Valorant, about 30 hours elapsed.
TenZ is the first “Valorant” in North America, as confirmed by Riot Games. Allegedly, several Europeans reached the title before him. However, none of them received the distinction separately.
As Gamerant reports, TenZ apparently had the advantage of being ranked so high in Valorant’s internal hidden match ranking that he quickly ranked Immortal 1, while others started at a lower level, even if they won all their placement matches.
His rise probably also went so quickly for this reason.
With the release of Valorant in the summer of 2020 on PC, Riot Games intends to reset the ranked system again. Then players will have another chance to claim the title as “first Valorant”.
