In Pokémon GO, a lot of space is needed for items and monsters. A trainer wanted to take advantage of a special offer but was blocked by the developers. We have summarized the dubious justification behind it here on MeinMMO.
Which box is it? Those who want to catch lots of monsters and collect item supplies in Pokémon GO are dependent on enough space. This is limited and must be purchased with PokéCoins.
On the occasion of the upcoming Sinnoh Tour, there is currently a special offer in Pokémon GO regarding the expansions, the so-called Super Storage Box
. This can be purchased for 550 PokéCoins and provides a bundle of one item and Pokémon expansion, a premium battle pass, and a remote raid pass. Trainers can save 145 coins compared to the normal price.
Therefore, the Reddit user Puzzleheaded_Leg703 also wanted to take advantage of this offer but was blocked by the developers. We explain what the reason for this was and how the community reacted.
Simply stupid
– Trainer has too many items for the box
Why couldn’t the trainer buy the box? The Reddit user Puzzleheaded_Leg703 wanted to expand his item and Pokémon storage and use the offer box. But it didn’t work as expected. Instead of the expansions, he received a crazy error message that he shares in his post. According to that, his item bag was exhausted, which is why the box could not be redeemed.
Simply stupid
, he writes on Reddit and is annoyed by the developers’ justification. While purchasing the bundle does also include two raid passes, which are likely the reason for the error message, the item bag is also expanded, ultimately creating more space.
Did he eventually get the box? As he further reveals in the comments, he first bought a regular item expansion for 200 PokéCoins to create enough space for the actual bundle. Alternatively, he could have cleaned out his item bag. However, since in his case it was about more than just two excess items, he stated that this was not an option for him.
Trainers have no understanding: That’s what the box is for!
Trainers are annoyed: This experience is causing quite a stir in the Reddit community. While most trainers agree that it must be due to the two passes, they do not understand why the expansion does not simply take effect here. Therefore, they compare the issue in the comments with other crazy everyday situations and express their confusion (via reddit.com):
- benlogna:
That happened to me too and I thought: ‘That’s what the BOX is for!’
- mz80:
It’s like buying a pair of scissors and then needing another pair of scissors to get it out of the packaging.
- salmondude69:
It’s like applying for a job to gain work experience, but being rejected because you have no work experience.
Are there any other problems with the bundle? Yes, other trainers are also having difficulties purchasing this box. Especially the storage limit of a maximum of 3 remote raid passes is a big problem for some players. You can read the following in the Reddit comments:
- ScottOld:
I can’t buy it because of the dumb restrictions on remote raid passes.
- NeatEnought9571:
This is so stupid. They won’t even sell it to me because I have too many remote raid passes.
But even players who have already expanded their bag full cannot unfortunately purchase the box.
Have you secured the offer? What were your experiences with it? And what is your opinion on the error message? Feel free to let us know here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers.
Just in time for the Sinnoh Tour, the limit for your expansions has been increased again. We show you how much space you can now secure for your Pokémon and items.
