While many trainers want to add stronger monsters to their team, the hunt for shiny Pokémon is also a strong motivation factor for trainers. Due to the high number of potential shinies in Pokémon GO, a lot of time can be invested in this.
Luck plays a big role here. Not only in the hunt for shinies themselves, as a trainer has recently experienced, but also in their evolutions.
“Am I doing something wrong??”
What has the trainer caught? The trainer demonstrates in his post on Reddit that he owns a total of 6 shiny Aalabyss in his Pokémon bag. Aalabyss is one of 2 possible evolutions of Perlu.
While many trainers would probably be glad about this, the monsters cause frustration for the trainer. This even prompts him to seek help on Reddit.
What frustrates the trainer? As mentioned earlier, Perlu has 2 evolutions: Aalabyss and Saganabyss. Which of the two evolutions you get is completely random. You have no influence over which monster evolves when you evolve Perlu.
While the trainer hoped that at least one shiny Saganabyss would emerge from the 6 evolutions, he received an Aalabyss in all 6 evolutions.
Therefore, he also asks the community in his post: “Am I doing something wrong?? Is there a way to force Saganabyss?”.
While the trainer initially had strong luck and was able to catch 6 Perlu, he had at least as much bad luck with the evolutions of the monster.
What does the community say? While some comments explain to the trainer that he is just having extreme bad luck, there is also an interesting suggestion: The trainer should simply trade with another trainer who has also had bad luck and has only received Saganabyss.
In addition, there is another post on Reddit that appeared almost simultaneously. Here, a trainer reports that he hates random evolutions. Because he even developed 7 shiny Perlu and only received Saganabyss.
If the two trainers become friends and level up their friendship level, they could both obtain their objects of desire through remote trading.
