Tank Build – our Recommendation
If you are looking for a reliable weapon combination for the job of tank in PvE group challenges, you actually end up again with our initially mentioned duo of sword and shield plus two-handed sword – Throne and Liberty calls this specialization the Crusader.
Advantages of the build:
- Extremely resilient
- High health values
- Self-healing through shield survival technique
- High (area) damage
- Good control abilities
Disadvantages of the build:
- No ranged weapon
- Rather low mobility
- High cooldowns
How to Increase Your Stats
The most important stat for you is strength, as this increases your maximum health, health regeneration, and maximum damage. Your goal should be to reach 60 points in strength to gain the bonus of 900 additional health points.
Then bring perception up to 40 points for a five percent increase in buff duration and dexterity to 30 points for increased crit chance. You can increase wisdom as needed if you encounter mana problems.
Selection of Active Skills
Use the following active skills with the specified enhancements:
- Defense: Shield Survival Technique
- Gaia Fall (with increased attack speed and crit chance)
- Shield Attack (with Piercing Strike and increased aggro)
- Daring Blows (with all three bonuses)
- Devastating Strike (with both bonuses)
- Courage of DaVinci (with increased duration, damage reduction, instant healing)
- Bloody Devotion (with all four bonuses)

During the leveling phase, you can upgrade your skills using growth books. Prioritize the skills as follows, ensuring to level the mentioned abilities to blue before aiming for the purple levels:

- Resilient Mind
- Counter Barrier
- Unyielding Bastion
- Aegis Shield
All other skills that you use can be upgraded afterward to your liking.
Gameplay for Boss Fights
Always counter Wu attacks with Shield Survival Technique whenever possible to restore health and mana (through passive skill Resilient Mind).
Start a fight against many targets best with Courage of DaVinci. Then follow up with Piercing Strike, Bloody Devotion, Provoking Roar, Willbreaker, Gaia Fall, and Devastating Strike.
Make sure to use Willbreaker always after Provoking Roar and Gaia Fall before Devastating Strike. Piercing Strike is your standard attack that you use as often as possible to build threat. If Piercing Strike is not ready, Daring Blows reliably provides you with aggro.
Also, keep the effect of Provoking Roar active. Since you often have to stand directly at the boss in many fights to avoid triggering lethal area damage, use Chain Hook to pull in distant adds. The hook also acts as a kind of taunt in case you lose the aggro of the boss. This way, you should be able to quickly regain aggro.
