Ubisoft has now presented the new Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Many suspected that it would be a Wildlands 2. We show you what’s inside.
What is Ghost Recon Breakpoint? The new part of the Ghost Recon series can be played solo or with up to 4 players in co-op. It is a military shooter that offers a campaign as well as a PvP arena with 4v4 matches.
There is a new Social Hub where you can see other players.
Breakpoint has the following features:
- Multiple classes
- Character customization with gender, face, and clothes
- Injury system
- Camouflage
- Improved enemy AI
- Adaptive cover
- Raids
- Open world
- Campaign is said to last “dozens of hours” (via Gamestar)
- Diverse weaponry with SMGs, pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, and light machine guns
- You choose the difficulty again
These features also align with the wishes of players that they expressed for the new Ghost Recon.
What is Ghost Recon Breakpoint about? You play as Nomad and are actually on a “normal” mission. Then things go wrong, and you end up on the fictional island of Auroa.
As you know from Ghost Recon, you are part of an elite squad in Breakpoint. But on this island, everything is a bit different. You are not hunting enemies; they are hunting you.
Your enemies are called Wolves. They utilize the powerful drone technology developed by Jace Skell. Officially, he wants to improve the world, but apparently has evil intentions.

In Breakpoint, your survival skills will be put to the test. Hide from your enemies and take them out silently. Or shoot loudly.
Vehicles like buggies, boats, and helicopters are again available for your movement.
What locations are there? Auroa features various landscapes. Snow, jungle, sand, and of course – water.

When is the release? Ubisoft plans to release the game on October 4, 2019, on the platforms PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Does it relate to Ghost Recon Wildlands? In the gameplay trailer, it is evident that Ubisoft is using the successful formula from Wildlands.
You can once again deploy drones to scout the environment. Additionally, you are again working as a group and can prepare kills simultaneously. The simultaneous kill from Wildlands is also back.
The gameplay trailer also shows various enemy types that are sometimes more, sometimes less armored.
How does Breakpoint differ from Wildlands?
More depth in injuries: Injuries to Nomad must be treated at the mobile field hospital. With a gunshot wound, you will limp and be more vulnerable in combat.
More tactics: Tactically, a lot has changed. You can specifically adjust the time of day and drag incapacitated enemies into the bushes. Additionally, you can cut through fences with welding torches.
No strike team: Breakpoint forgoes AI allies. This time, you really crash solo. Your sync-shot ability still works – thanks to the help of drones.
Class selection: Different classes provide variety. At launch, there are initially four classes, including Assault and Sniper.
In the Gamestar video, you can see what Breakpoint wants to do differently than Wildlands.
