While Honor of Kings: World has already been released in China, the first alpha test will soon take place in the West. The developers have now revealed the specific dates.
When is the Alpha? The dates for the upcoming alpha test of Honor of Kings: World are as follows:
- May 15 to 20, 2026: Invitations (and a Steam key) for the test will be sent via email
- May 18, 2026: Selected content creators will receive early access to the Alpha
- May 21, 2026 – 10:00 AM: The test begins for all players with alpha access
- May 27, 2026 – 10:00 AM: The alpha test ends
What else do I need to know about the test? You can register for the test on the official website of Honor of Kings: World. It is currently unclear how many players will be allowed on the servers during the alpha test phase.
The alpha version will be entirely in English (texts and voice acting); other languages will be supported at a later time. There will be controller support, but the test will not take place on consoles, only on Steam.
During the test, all monetization options will be disabled. Alpha testers will receive items instead through the in-game mailbox, events, and other means. After the alpha, all progress will be reset.

What kind of game can I expect? Honor of Kings: World is a MMO Lite from Tencent and a spinoff of the extremely successful Honor of Kings franchise in Asia – experts are confident that the game will become huge. You can expect characters and classes known from the MOBA, as well as a vast open world full of quests, puzzles, and challenges.
Although there are MMO elements like dungeons and you can quest with friends, the “massively” of the MMO genre is missing: other characters are initially just silhouettes and do not actually exist in your version of the world. Therefore, you do not compete with them for monsters or resources, but you can interact with them and form groups. How this plays out in practice has been discovered by my colleague Cedric for you: In China, everyone is currently playing the biggest new MMORPG of 2026, and I have sneaked onto the servers for you
