29-year-old Kaitlyn Siragusa has established herself as Amouranth, the most-watched streamer on Twitch, and also makes millions on the paid platform OnlyFans. She skillfully invests her earnings and has built a reputation as a savvy businesswoman. On Twitter, she recently showcased her latest investment.
Amouranth is the most-watched streamer on Twitch. In November 2022, she was the only woman represented in the top 100 of the platform. Most viewers primarily associate her with mildly dressed streams and licking the microphone, but there is more to Amouranth than meets the eye.
For Amouranth presents herself as a hard-working businesswoman who invests her profits long-term – for example, in gas stations and the retail chain 7-Eleven. Recently, Amouranth shared her latest investment on Twitter: shares of the online retailer Amazon.

What has Amouranth bought? As Amouranth announced on her personal Twitter account on December 30, she purchased 23,600 Amazon shares for nearly 2 million USD. Amazon is a huge, globally operating company, making this a pretty safe investment.
However, there is something else interesting about the investment: Twitch has belonged to Amazon since 2014. Even though the streaming platform is just a relatively small part of the company, Amouranth has effectively invested in the platform where she earns at least part of her income.
Her career could have ended after a ban in 2019 – but the opposite happened.
How does Amouranth justify the purchase? The streamer wrote on Twitter: “To own the means of production.” This is something she learned from political streamer HasanAbi, who is regarded as a moral authority on Twitch and is politically quite left-wing.
The English sentence comes from the communist work “Das Kapital” by Karl Marx, which states that a worker must sell their labor power because they do not own the means of production. “Seize the Means of Production” is also a popular meme (via knowyourmeme).

How is the tweet received? Besides the question of how communist it is to buy shares in an extremely capitalist company, Amouranth’s fans are primarily concerned about one thing: the idea that larger streamers might gain a say on Twitch through shares.
With a company like Amazon, which is worth several billion USD, Amouranth is still far from a seat on the board of directors with her investment. Nonetheless, the thought of a platform shaped by streamers is interesting (via Twitter).
