This is how it went down: As Knossi further narrates, Lia’s eyes were initially covered after the surgery. The night before the eye protection was to be removed, he didn’t sleep at all and woke up drenched in sweat.

The moment of truth then came in the form of a video call. To his relief, Lia was not too startled when she saw her partner. Her verdict: He looks different, but good. He was very relieved about that. At their first in-person meeting, she summarized again: He looks different, but he still smells the same.
