- Asmongold was a leading WoW streamer on Twitch for a long time.
- In recent years, he has become a “reaction streamer”, accused of farming drama with “ragebait” videos. This primarily started when he intensely covered the court case with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
- The editor of his videos on the clip channel increasingly appears as an acting character in the videos, caricaturing Asmongold and criticizing him in a passive-aggressive manner. He goes by the name “The Editor” – the editor.

What is the conflict about? Asmongold has commented on “Streaming is harder than regular jobs” and took the following position:
- Streaming is emotionally draining and more exhausting than many other professions
- He himself is an absolutely leading streamer and better at it than most, so he can judge that
What is the problem? These comments from Asmongold have earned him a lot of criticism and especially dislikes on his YouTube videos.
The criticism against him is that with these statements, he belittles the jobs of ordinary people, while he is a multimillionaire. He can complain about his job, but devaluing the jobs of everyone else as “easy” is not for him to do.

Exactly this is what the Editor accuses him of in a video: The Editor scrolls through the hours-long Twitch stream and complains that Asmongold only addresses the conflict and no longer produces new, funny content. This is how the conflict continued: In another video on YouTube, the Editor then fakes Asmongold’s apology and makes it appear as if he is snorting cocaine and then apologizes for his defense of himself. In truth, the Editor has edited together very old videos of Asmongold here.
In the further course of the discussion, the Editor seeks help from a friend of Asmongold, McConnell, only he can still save Asmongold and the channel.
How is this received? Even though Asmongold is currently under criticism – people love the mocking and self-deprecating videos of the “Editor”, who gives the videos a unique spin with his distinctive voice.
