In The Division, a curious video has been released: It shows an agent in the Dark Zone saving his rogue buddy – with the “Gandalf trick”.
Anyone who has seen “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” knows the scene where Gandalf stops the Balrog with the words: YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
The reddit user Ko-ba has now imitated Gandalf and stopped agents who wanted to chase his rogue buddy. He stood in a doorway, which prevented a squad of other agents from passing. His buddy escaped the pursuers.
According to the reddit user, he wanted to stop this agent hunt peacefully. All it takes is a door and a brave agent to imitate Gandalf. However, this action didn’t end quite as peacefully…

Note: This protection does not last forever – if the pursuers continuously run against “Gandalf” in a sprint, they will get past him. However, the fugitive still gains some time.
Furthermore, the Gandalf player must not be “Rogue”, as otherwise he can also be shot without penalty.
While some users celebrate this Gandalf tactic, others see it as an unfair bug that the developers should fix. The developers have somewhat put themselves in a tight spot with the narrow doorways.
