In an interview, the director of the game Lies of P promised players a lot of fun in the upcoming game and that they would not be disappointed.
Which game is it about? The game Lies of P was acclaimed at its release in the year 2023. Players take on the role of P, a combat puppet who wants to be human and is on a quest for his own identity. In the Steampunk world, P must repeatedly defeat mechanical monsters; thus, players are offered a challenge reminiscent of Dark Souls.
On Metacritic, Lies of P has a Metascore of 80 and a User Score of 8.3. It can definitely be looked at, and fans of the Dark Souls games have found a worthy alternative.
Director holds hope for the next game
What does the director say? The DLC Lies of P: Overture tells the backstory to the main game and won the award for “Best Expansion” at the Golden Joystick Awards. Along with the prequel release, players were also offered a hardcore challenge.
In an interview at the awards with gamesradar+, director Choi Ji-won spoke about the award: “I am so happy that I am momentarily at a loss for words. We didn’t see it merely as a pure expansion, but almost as a sequel and an entirely new project.”
Then he also talked about the future of upcoming games: “You can look forward to the greatest fun we can offer in the game. […] We are really working hard on it and I will definitely not disappoint you.”
However, it remains unclear whether Choi Ji-won is speaking about another game in the Lies of P universe or a completely different game.
How does the community react? In the subreddit r/LiesofP, the article from gamesradar was posted and fans are commenting positively under the post. The user Headsquasher is especially excited on Reddit if it is indeed a sequel to Lies of P: “NEOWIZ! SHOW ME AN OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR THE SEQUEL TO LIES OF P AT THIS YEAR’S GAME AWARDS, AND YOU CAN HAVE MY LIFE!”
User samanime on Reddit would even pre-order the upcoming game because he is so excited about Lies of P: Overture: “The DLC was really almost like a sequel. I went in pretty unprepared and was quite surprised at how long it was. I will definitely pre-order everything this team releases in the future. They deserve it.”
